Partnered Research Program

The Partnered Research Program supports projects that address ArcticNet’s key priorities in Well-Being, Infrastructure, Energy, Ecosystems, Economy.

Eligible recipients include:

  • Post-secondary institutions;
  • Research hospitals;
  • First Nations, Inuit and Métis and Territorial organizations and governments;
  • Research networks;
  • Public engagement networks;
  • Companies that deliver public engagement activities;
  • Start-up companies (including those housed in Canadian post-secondary-linked incubators).

Note: Eligible recipients do not include federal departments, agencies or crown corporations of the Government of Canada.

Projects must actively engage Indigenous and Northern partners to ensure a meaningful integration of academic, local, and Indigenous knowledge systems. Successful research teams will demonstrate diversity across disciplines, institutions, knowledge systems, and geographic areas.

Research teams can apply for funding for up to three years, from April 1, 2025 – March 31, 2028.

Funding is available for projects of various sizes:

  • Small projects: $25-75K per year

  • Medium projects: $75-200K per year

  • Large projects: $200-400K per year

The applications are due by December 20th, 2024 by 23h59 EST. For more information, please refer to the Partnered Application Guidelines.
